Breanna and Callie had there first show this past weekend. We were so impressed with the girls skills and abilities.

The rest of the story…
I left school at 2:30 when Krysta texted me that it was time (thanks to Dr. Rowley for letting me out of Church Planting Boot Camp Class =^) Friends were waiting at the house with the kids (thank you to our great friends the Jennings and the Lyns for the help). Krysta was in the full swing of labor so we got her in the car and began racing to Baylor hospital (about 17-20 min away). She was getting closer to delivery time as we neared and I pulled right up to the door of the hospital, but, it was time!! We neared the door which was maybe 5 ft away but K couldn’t go any farther. Baby Genevieve was born right there in the car port at Baylor!! The hospital staff and doctors responded quickly and precisely and did a really great job. Everyone is feeling well and everything worked out perfectly. Praise the Lord for His protection and provision. What a memory—one for the books!
How blessed I am to be in Dallas training for full time ministry with my amazing husband and best friend and our very precious children.
Today I was privileged to sit under Linda Dillow’s teaching on how to be a Godly wife. It is such an honor to sit under women who have been faithfully serving the Lord, loving their husbands, raising Godly children, and impacting so many lives for Christ. I am humbled that God in His sovereign will has given Sean and I the opportunity to learn under wonderful servants of Christ.
I thought I would share the bullet points from Linda Dillow’s message in case you desire to grow in your role as a wife who is pleasing to God.
#1 Priority
- Number one priority given by God needs to by my husband. Show him that he is my number 1 priority on earth by my choices, actions, and words.
Have a marriage purpose statement; complete with your goals and desires for your marriage.
How would you want your husband to feel and testify to the wife you have been.
What goals do you need to set to make that happen?
Review your marriage purpose statement from time to time to keep aiming for you goals.
Be a wife that has an attitude of gratitude.
-“Be careful what you dwell on, for that you will surely become.” Emmerson
-God is displeased with a wife full of grumbling and complaining.
1 Cor 10:13 illustrates how serious God view grumbling.
Phil 2:14-15 tells to do everything without grumbling and complaining so that we can shine like stars in this crooked and perverse world.
Application to put off grumbling is to make yourself aware of how much you grumble.
-She had a bracelet that she would take off and put on the other wrist every time she grumbled or complained to make herself aware of when she was sinning in this way.
-Put on Thankfulness; keep a thankfulness journal of how God has been faithful to you and what you are thankful for about your husband.
-Memorize Ps 92:1-2 and Phil 4:8 to make your heart, attitude, and mouth overflowing with gratitude.
Physical intimacy in marriage
First of all, how great and refreshing it is to hear a Christian woman have the boldness to get up and teaching on God’s purpose and grand design of sex.
6 reasons God gave the gift of sex:
1) Procreation
2) Intimate Oneness Eph 5:31-32
3) Intimate knowledge of one another Gen 4:1
4) Pleasure Song of Solomon and Prov 5
5) Deterrent from temptation
6) To give comfort to one another
Physical intimacy is an illustration God gives us of the spiritual intimacy we will have with Him. He created intimacy to show the degree of the depth of relationship the Lord desire from us.
God declares physical intimacy in a Christian marriage beautiful and holy. Prov 5:19 A loving doe and graceful fawn—let her breasts always satisfy you; be lost in her love forever. The Hebrew writing of this verse is so much deeper than this translation states, completely intoxicated in her love forever may be a better word picture for us to see the depth of love and passion expressed in physical intimacy.
What wonderful teach that was on marriage. I am so thankful that I can be better trained in loving my husband. I desire to stand before Jesus Christ when I die and be able to testify that I sought hard at loving Him as my Lord and loving my closest neighbor, my husband.
I would highly recommend any and all of Linda Dillow’s books. She has a new one on marriage just being released titled “What is it like to be married to me?” Another wonderful book, that I am currently reading is “Creative Counterpart.” And I have read her book on Sex on marriage and also recommend that “Intimate Issues.”
Liam is so much fun and such a good little boy. And trust me I have experienced a not so good little boy (big brother Logan at 1 1/2yrs). Liam is entertaining all of us with the new words he keeps saying. Today we all got a big kick out of him saying “pony” and “neigh”. We are not sure how he will take it when our little Genevieve arrives in May. He is certainly the center of attention around here.
Callie, my so special girl. How deeply she loves and cares for her family. I am so excited to see how God continues to shape and mold her into a servant of His. She is busy learning lots in school, playing piano, loving horses, and just having fun being a kid.
Breanna, often Sean and I ask, are we sure she just turned 11, she seems much more like 14. She is such a help, truly my side kick around the house. She is so independent and capable. There are days I am certain if I gave her the car keys and some money she could run to Walmart and pick up milk. But please don’t worry I will not do that for a few more years. She is doing wonderful in school. I am really enjoying 5th grade, a lot of very valuable information. To think I sent my life at 11 in 5th grade certain I was going to be a professional football player. I wonder if her desires to own a horse ranch will change or remain her goal. It will be fun to see.
Logan, is a delight all day long. With the help of his Uncle Dave he has grasped reading and is plugging along in that new found skill. He really enjoys learning but loves playing even more. He lives for Saturdays when there is no school and no requirements over his morning. He loves to work especially when he gets rewarded for it. Today, Sean put together a contract of work for Logan. Logan worked diligently all afternoon at different projects and earned a wage from his father. He is thankful to be a little man and enjoys learning the value of working hard.
Caitlin, I forgot an individual picture of her. You know how cute she is. She is such a delight at 4. Her legs are growing so long when I look at her I think who is young girl she is too big and grown up to be our little Caitlin. She is in love with her little sister in my tummy already and can’t wait to hold her and love her. She is also learning a ton this year. Her favorite thing to do is play ponies, much like her big sisters.
Do other kids run around their yards neighing and braying like ours do? They have horse fever bad, but no worries, i don’t! They spend many hours plotting how they can get their own horse and keep it in our little back yard. They have it planned perfectly how many pony rides they would have to give the neighbor kids per day to make enough to support the horse. Sorry kids, I love you so much but not happening!
Oh our daughters and my sons are so special to us. Sean and I love raising them. We lie in bed laughing at night about some of the funny things they do and say. It is a great responsibility we have upon us and with out the Lord we would not succeed. But I already see good fruits of God’s working in each of their lives. They can each testify to God’s greatness and his active working in our lives. Parenting is an exciting adventure and we love it.
